No contact with Zardari on long march: Shujaat
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) President Senator Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that no contact was made with former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari for joining the long march against the government.
He was talking to the media after visiting the bereaved family of Soofi Muhammad Iqbal of Minhajul Quran tragedy at their residence and presenting ‘Eidi’ to the vicitm’s children expressing condolence, grief and sorrow over his death in police firing.
PML-Q president said that they were with the families of the martyrs in their moments of grief and sorrow. He said that we would not allow sacrifices made by those martyrs in the Model Town tragedy go to waste. He also said that the government had crossed all limits of oppression in Model Town and a revolution was very much essential in order to save the people from oppression and for restoration of their rights. In reply to a question about PPP’s joining the long march, he said that they have contact the high command of the PPP but there was no contact with Asif Ali Zardari yet and there has been no talk with him regarding long march. Anyhow, he said that his party wanted the PPP to also join their protest.
