Dar approves salaries of PSM workers
By Zeeshan Ghayur

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday sent instructions from Saudi Arabia for furnishing one month’s salary to the employees of the Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM).

According to detail, Dar sanctioned a sum of Rs 480 million for facilitating the employees of PSM amid the festivity of Eidul Fitr.

PSM, acknowledged worldwide for keeping intact with global standards of production, has recently fallen prey to the trap of mismanagement and corruption. The political influence upon PSM has led to the recruitment of many. The same political elite failed to pay heed to the crumbling financial conditions of the mill.

Dar sanctioned the sum on humanitarian grounds, as PSM was unable to provide salaries to all extending their services for the sake of the mill. Dar hopes the families of staff/workers serving at PSM would be able to enjoy the festivities of Eid.
