Pakistan to raise India’s role in Balochistan, FATA at UN
Adviser says Pakistan capable to give befitting reply to any Indian threat

ISLAMABAD – The National Assembly was informed on Friday that the government is considering to raise the issue of India’s spy agency RAW's involvement in Pakistan especially in the Balochistan province and the Tribal Areas with the United Nations and other international forums.

During Question Hour, Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz told the lower house of the parliament that Pakistan has taken up the issue of RAW's activities in Pakistan with various foreign leaders. During the foreign secretary level talks held in March this year, the foreign secretary had raised the issue with the Indian counterpart, he said.

– PM to address issue at UN –

The adviser also said that the prime minister would also raise this issue at the UN General Assembly. To a supplementary question, the adviser said that the government has already condemned the recent terrorism incident took place in India’s Gurdaspur town and rejected the Indian allegations of Pakistan's involvement in it.

He said that it has also been made clear that Pakistan has capability to give befitting reply in case of any threat from Indian side. Sartaj told the House that there were 2309 Pakistanis imprisoned in Saudi Arabia.

– New trade policy –

Answering a question, Parliamentary Secretary Muhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan said there were approximately 3.8 million Pakistanis currently working in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and efforts were being made to further increase manpower export to this region. To a question, he said that Kuwait has not stopped renewal of visas to Pakistanis who are residing or working in Kuwait.

To a question, State Minister for Interior Affairs Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman told the House that new trade policy would be announced soon focusing on increasing exports of Pakistan. Parliamentary Secretary for States and Frontier Regions Shaheen Shafiq informed the House that 7384 registered families from South Waziristan have been returned to their homes while 63740 were remaining.

She said that 9006 unregistered families from South Waziristan have also been returned to their homes. Speaking on a point of order, Malik Ibrar and Tahira Aurangzeb appreciated the operation carried out in Islamabad to remove the illegal slums after giving prior notices. They said this location was a den of criminals and most of them were Afghan nationals.

They said that the operation was carried out on the orders of the Islamabad High Court and now the allottees of plots in this sector can get their plots. State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Khan said that the government was responsible to maintain law and order situation and take action against criminals. The house will now meet at 5pm on Monday.
