Nation celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr with religious zeal
PAKISTAN: People across the country celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.
As the holy month of Ramazan ended and the joyous occasion of Eid began, people across the nation celebrated the occasion by going to mosques to offer Eid prayers and distributing sweets among relatives.
Special prayers for the country's well-being were offered in mosques across the nation. Prayers were also offered for the armed forces personnel who had been martyred for the sake of Pakistan.
Son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani, Ali Haider Gilani also offered Eid prayers in Multan and expressed his joy at celebrating Eid among his relatives.
"After being rescued, I am celebrating Eid with my relatives which feels fantastic," he stated.
Former PML-N and PTI leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi offered Eid prayers at the Shahi Eidgah.
He denounced the recent bomb attacks in Saudi Arabia and called for all Pakistani leaders who were abroad to return to the country.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah offered Eid prayers at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh along with Speaker of Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani.
He later offered fateha at the grave of former Prime Ministers Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Meanwhile, members of the Rabita Committee and other leaders of MQM offered Eid prayers at Jinnah Ground Azizabad and at Nine Zero. Among them was also Dr Farooq Sattar.
