200 Pakistani passengers stranded at Istanbul Airport
ISTANBUL: At least 200 Pakistani passengers have stuck at Istanbul airport as all flights to Turkey diverted and departures from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport were cancelled amid a coup attempt unfolded in the country on Friday.
“We are waiting for the flights since 20 hours here at airport,” a Pakistani passenger told Geo News.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Embassy in Ankara and Consulate General in Istanbul have released emergency contact numbers for the assistance of the Pakistani community in Turkey.
The number of Embassy in Ankara is 0090-505-979-5393 and Consulate General number in Istanbul is 0090-532-568-3413.
According to a spokesman of Pakistan Consulate General flights are being rescheduled for Pakistani passengers.
“All Pakistanis are safe in Turkey, nobody is hurt during the attempted coup bid,” he said.
