Bilawal’s visit to rekindle Bhutto legacy in Muzaffarabad
Before Bilawal, Muzaffarabad had Zulfikar and Benazir
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is all set to address a rally in Azad Kashmir ahead of the July 21 elections which, according to political analysts, could turn out to be the most violent contest in the state’s history.
According to media reports, the PPP chairman will address a huge crowd of supporters in Muzaffarabad. It may be mentioned here that this will be Bilawal’s first public address in the Azad Kashmir capital.
Muzaffarabad, however, is not a place too unfamiliar for the PPP itself - as the city has witnessed the presence of two of the most popular leaders in the history of Pakistan: Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
In his July 14 address to the people of Rawalakot, Bilawal had strongly criticised the federal government’s attitude towards the escalation of violence in Indian-held Kashmir.
Regional elections in Azad Kashmir are scheduled to be held on July 21. All three major parties of Pakistan as well as regional heavyweight Muslim Conference and independents are contesting the elections.
