Mufti Qawi answers questions posed by police
MULTAN: Mufti Abdul Qawi said on Sunday that he had provided the written answers to the questions police had posed to him.
According to details, Mufti Abdul Qawi denied he ever knew anyone named Abdul Basit from Shah Sadruddin village. Earlier, reports had emerged that Abdul Basit, a suspect in the Qandeel Baloch murder case, was Mufti Abdul Qawi's cousin.
Mufti Qawi also disclosed that he had replied to the written questions posed to him and said that it would be provide it to the police by 11 am on Monday. Qawi also stated that no family member of Qandeel Baloch had contacted him after she had been murdered. Mufti Qawi said that he was not aware of the specifics regarding Qandeel Baloch's family and did not know how many family members she had.
He said that he received details regarding Qandeel Baloch's family members from newspapers and the media. Qawi said that he had always abstained from pointing fingers or putting forth allegations against someone.
Police had decided to include Mufti Abdul Qawi in the murder investigation of slain model and social media personality Qandeel Baloch when she had been murdered a few weeks after they both met secretly and pictures of their rendezvous went viral on social media.
Qandeel Baloch's brother has already confessed to murdering his sister for honour and Mufti Qawi has denied being involved in her killing.
