Asif again spews venom against Shaukat Khanum hospital
SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday stressed that the ruling party is not considering a new prime minister.
Talking to reporters, he said the reports of a rift between PML-N and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar were mere assumptions.
The Supreme Court admitted that there was no corruption scandal against PM Nawaz and now it is the turn of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to prove his innocence, he said.
He took a shot at the PTI Chief and said Nawaz has already presented his documents before the Supreme Court twice and now Kaptaan is the one who is running from accountability.
"Imran Khan should also explain to the nation how divorced wives send millions and billions for buying property," he stated.
Asif said, "Imran Khan had filed an Rs 10 billion defamation notice against me and his counsel was absent from the hearing till date."
He made it clear that the PML-N was not expecting the PM's disqualification in Panama corruption case.
He added that the government had delivered in its tenure and relies on the public support for 2018 general elections.
Building on the news, Asif additionally accused Khan of investing charity money meant for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital and NAMAL College in France and Oman.
The defence minister said that PML-N voters are with Nawaz Sharif and there's no option for a new PM in near sight. He added that the party does not even imagine the possibility of the disqualification of the premier.
Khawaja Asif said the PML-N was united under Nawaz.
