Can’t put national unity at stake for Kalabagh, says Shehbaz

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said Kalabagh dam is vital for the country, but national unity could not be put at stake for its construction.

Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi, Shehbaz said that instead of speaking lies, governments should honestly speak about their performance.

He added that the CPEC was delayed for a year due to 2014 PTI-led dharnas, which also caused immense losses to the country.

Criticising former Sindh government, the ex-Punjab CM said that PPP-led provincial govt did not even provide basic facilities to the people of the province.

Shehbaz vowed to invest as much amount as needed to provide the residents of Sindh with electricity and water if PML-N is elected to power in Sindh.

He also lauded the former PML-N federal government for eliminating terrorism and crimes from Karachi and for improving the situation of electricity.
