PTI will not accept delay in elections: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Monday said that the conduct of the general elections on time is a constitutional requirement and PTI will not accept delay in the polls in any circumstances.

During a press conference, he condemned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Qauid Nawaz Sharif’s recent statements reportedly “indicating a possibility of election boycott”.

Fawad alleged the PML-N wants to make the elections “controversial” .

PTI leader Asad Umar, during a media talk today, has also showed concerns that the PML-N can announce ‘boycott’ a week before polls. “It seems Nawaz Sharif will call for boycott a week before polls,” said Umar.

However, PML-N leaders including Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Aurangzeb and Ahsan Iqbal have dispelled the news about the party boycotting the elections.

Moreover, Nawaz Sharif, who is currently in London to attend his ailing wife, has also decided to return to Pakistan along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz to lead election campaign from the front.

General Elections 2018 are scheduled to be held on July 25.
