SC retains no tax deductions on mobile recharge till next review
The CJP, who headed the proceedings, remarked that the order for no tax on mobile recharge was not just for ten days, he added, it should be retained till the next orders regarding the issue.ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) ordered on Thursday to retain the court’s order of no taxation on mobile phone recharge till the review.
A three-member bench heard the case regarding tax on mobile phone recharge. The CJP, who headed the proceedings, remarked that the order for no tax on mobile recharge was not just for ten days, he added, it should be retained till the next orders regarding the issue.
In May, CJP had taken notice of heavy taxes on mobile recharge. The CJP had ordered for the removal of any type of tax.
Previously, it was said that the tax was removed for only 15 days, however, the CJP today rejected the notion.
