LONDON: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters on Monday engaged in a scuffle outside Avenfield apartment in London, the residence of former premier Nawaz Sharif.
PTI supporters were protesting in front of the house chanting slogans against Sharif. In response to that, supporters of PML-N started chanting slogans against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan. The quibble led to a brawl between the supporters of both parties, further leading to the arrest of PML-N senior leader in UK Nasir Butt and two PTI supporters.
While condemning the incident, the PTI wing in Britain dissociated itself from it and asked that suspects must be brought before the law, stating, “we are not associated in any way with the attack on Hussain Nawaz’s residence or the related protest”.
Earlier, a day before, a group of protestors went violent and tried to break into the Avenfield apartment. Though, Metropolitan police got it under control.
