LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Friday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan is being treated as if he is more important than the rest of the political figures in the country and that such ‘double standards’ are not acceptable.
Speaking at a corner meeting arranged by Sarfraz Shaikh in Resham Gali, Khuhro said that all political and democratic parties should be allowed to launch election campaigns independently and the peoples mandate should be respected.
Khuhro said that PPP has never bowed down to dictators adding that the party will continue to encounter all hurdles which come in the way of democracy. He lashed out at his opponents saying that when ex-PM Benazir Bhutto was in jail, those who were now opposing PPP presented Ajrak to Gen Zia at Sukarno Memorial Tower in Larkana.
He also said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah founded the country, and it was PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who saved it.
Tarique Siyal, brother of former home minister Suhail Anwar Siyal, said on occasion that defeat will be the fate of anti-PPP forces on July 26 when the PPP will be celebrating its success across Sindh.
Candidate for PS-11 Nida Khuhro said that she is conducting a door-to-door campaign for elections and that she hopes the residents of Larkana will support their ‘daughter’ who vows to transform lives of the people of her constituency.
