ISPR cautions public against fake security threats on social media

The military has warned the public about fake threat alerts in various cities that have been circulating on the social media. In a press release, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday has apprised the citizens against the fake threats and has censured the implantation of fake reports that spread fear and anxiety amongst the public.

“This propaganda is a condemnable effort to spread fear [among citizens]. Citizens should keep an eye on fake calls, propaganda,” it said in the press release.

“ISPR’s official website can be accessed to verify information [attributed to the armed forces],” the press release added.

People who aren’t skilled enough and have a minimum use of the internet are unable to recognise fake news littering the social media.
