ECP rejects PML-N, PPP demand for extension in polling time

The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided not to extend polling time.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) demanded an extension in polling time for one hour.

The decision of not extending polling time was made during an important meeting under the chief election commissioner. ECP secretaries from all the four provinces were also present in the meeting.

PPP leader Farhatullah Babar said the polling time must be extended for one hour.

Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed had also demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to delay the polling time.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Faisal Javed Khan said PML-N was demanding extension as it had failed to pull their voters to the polling stations.

Earlier the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed the PML-N’s plea seeking the extension in the polling time.
