The recount of the votes begins on Saturday in different constituencies of Pakistan.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) marked a great victory in General Elections 2018 and is expected to form the next government.

After the complete announcement of polls results, all the prominent parties including PML-N, PPP, and JUI have alleged that the elections were fixed in favor of Imran Khan (PTI).

To this, PTI has responded to recount the votes of those constituencies whose results were alleged suspicious or foul.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also accepted PML-N leader and former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique’s petition for a recount.

The recount for Faisalabad’s NA-108 and NA-106 constituencies will begin in a while. Moreover, the recount of Multan’s NA-154 and NA-157 constituencies will also occur today.

Similarly, the Returning Officer (RO) has PML-N’ Ayaz Sadiq and PTI’s Aleem Khan for the recount of votes. The two were contesting polls from NA-129 Lahore 7 constituency and Khan showed reservations over the results. Sadiq won by getting 103,021 votes while Aleem Khan got 94,879 votes and stood runner-up.

The All Parties Conference (APC) had announced the boycott of election results after the foreign observers had criticised the pivotal vote over rigging allegations.
