Governor Ismail says no to governor rule in Sindh
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, here on Saturday, ruled out any possibility of the imposition of governor rule in the province.
He told media sources that the government wanted to strengthen the system and institutions. He added that the government would not take any step against the law and the constitution.
The governor noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan would never grant the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to the plunderers of national wealth.
He maintained, “The corrupt elements will have to return the looted money to the national exchequer.”
The government did not impose any tax on agriculture to boost the farming sector in the country, the governor asserted.Earlier on July 10, PM Khan had dismissed the possibility of imposing a governor rule in the Sindh.
Talking to media sources at Governor House, Karachi, the premier had noted that no one had talked about imposing a governor rule in Sindh and it will not happen in the near future.The PM had asserted that the opposition parties wanted to save their corruption and looted money in the name of democracy. In a similar development, Governor Ismail, on Saturday, said that PM Khan would raise the Kashmir issue during his meeting with the US President Donald Trump. He hoped that his visit would prove to be very important. While talking to media persons in Tando Muhammad Khan, the governor noted that the NAB was an independent institution and, thus, it would be better to let it continue its work independently.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had assigned him a special task to serve the people of Sindh and the people would soon observe the change, he continued. Replying to another question, Sindh Governor added that he would discuss the issue of water shortage in Sindh with the prime minister.
