Petrol price cut by Rs 6 per litre

* Diesel price falls by Rs 1.08

ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday decreased oil prices between 1 to 8 percent on the basis of decrease in international prices of petroleum oil and lubricant products, effective from June 1.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification in this regard.

According to the notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 6.04 per litre, HOBC by Rs 7.15 per litre, Kerosene Oil by Rs 3.40 per litre, Light Diesel Oil by Rs 3.15 per litre, High Speed Diesel by Rs 1.08 per litre, JP-1 (local) by Rs 3.10 per litre, JP-4 by Rs 2.91 per litre and JP-8 by Rs 3.11 per litre.

Following the decision, the new price of POL products are – Petrol Rs 69.04 per litre petrol, HOBC Rs 82.04 per litre, Kerosene Rs 65.49 per litre, LDO Rs 62.61 per litre, HSD Rs 75.72 per litre, JP-1 (local) Rs 55.36 per litre, JP-4 Rs 52.63 per litre and JP-8 Rs 55.08 per litre.

After the decrease in POL prices, the government will continue charging Rs 10 per litre petroleum development levy on petrol, Rs 8 per litre on HSD, Rs 14 per litre on HOBC, Rs 3 per litre on LDO and Rs 6 per litre on kerosene oil.

Addressing a press conference, OGRA spokesman Syed Jawad Naseem said the POL prices had fallen due to a decrease in POL prices in the Gulf market.
