Indo-US strategic dialogue should improve regional environment: FO
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has said that the Indo-US strategic dialogue will hopefully improve regional environment and have no negative impact on Pak-US relations.
FO spokesman Abdul Basit said whether it was Pak-US relations or Indo-US relations, all three countries must focus on promoting their interests. He said diplomacy was the name of efforts to promote bilateral relations.
“During the Pak-US strategic dialogue, we tried to expand our relations beyond terrorism and security. As regards the Indo-US strategic dialogue, we have no objection over their bilateral relations,” he said. Basit said India and US had a right to improve their relations and their relations should not cast any negative impact on Pakistan’s interests.
“Washington and Delhi’s relations should have positive effects on the region,” he said.
The FO spokesman hoped that the Indo-US dialogue would help improve Pak-India relations and pave the way for the resolution of disputes. app
