Land links with Badin villages still cut off
BADIN: The People displaced by the rains in the coastal areas of Sindh, began to trace their steps back homes amid rainwater still standing in several residential areas posing problems to the people, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Hundreds of people are living under virtual siege clamped by the stagnant rainwater in various areas of Latifabad-2 and Qasimabad despite the lapse of three days.
The residents of Latifabad-2 are facing great hardships as the sewerage line burst out while draining the rainwater.
Meantime, several areas of Memon Society, Nasim Nagar and Qasimabad are still devoid of electricity.
The unpaved paths leading to over dozens of villages in Badin areas of Grari and Rari, are submerged under water, causing to cut off land links with the villages.
Also, the situation in Badin city is quite worse. The sewage water entered in several houses.
The roads of all residential areas of Golarchi are inundated under rainwater.
Meantime, normalcy returned to coastal areas of Thatta after the storm Phet made smashing landfall, as over 50,000 people have left for their houses from Keti Bandar, Shah Bandar, Jati and Kharo Chhan talukas.
According to district administration, the breach in the embankment of RBOD near Gharo has been plugged after 10 hours.
