NEPRA approves increase in KESC tariff
ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase in tariff of the Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) from 0.6 paisas to Rs 1.70, a private TV channel reported on Monday. NEPRA has notified that the tariff raise would be applied from the period July 2009 to March 2010 and the amount would be added in consumer bills from December. The hike has been allowed with respect to the fuel price adjustments. The new tariff would be applicable to all consumers except lifeline consumers, the notification added. app
