Water inflow matches outflow at Attabad lake
HUNZA: Water inflow and outflow continues at a matching speed at Attabad lake as goods and affectees are being moved through helicopter and boat services.According to official sources, water is flowing at 5000 cusecs into the landslide- formed Attabad lake while outflow also continues at the matching rate.
It is being feared that 15000 to 20000 cusecs water from melting glaciers will make its way into the lake in July. Earlier, this water used to flow into the Hunza River.
Helicopter service continues in Hunza and Gilgit following improvement in weather conditions. Now the affectees of Tehsil Gojal are being shifted to their areas.
Boat service is ferrying people in the upper areas of Hunza while Gilgit-Hunza section of Karakorum Highway remained opened till 4 pm today for transporting relief goods to the calamity-stricken people.
