‘Judiciary should follow principles of justice’
* Chief justice directs FJA to formulate result-oriented and constructive courses

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Wednesday advised the judicial officers attending a course at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) that they should strictly adhere to the principles of justice, the rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution.
Encouraging the judicial officers, he said, “The initial duty of judicial officers is the dispensation of justice and they are performing the task in a befitting manner”.
Talking to the course participants of the FJA, who called on him at the Supreme Court, the CJP said, “You are the backbone of the judiciary because you people are dealing with 90 percent of the litigations at the district level”.
The CJP directed the acting director general Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) to ensure result-oriented and productive courses for judicial officers so that their abilities can be utilized fully.
Talking to the judicial officers, Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday said, “When a refresher course is conducted, it is just like fresh air”. While Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Judge In-charge administration (FJA), Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Judge In-charge academics (FJA), Justice Ghulam Rabbani, Judge, Dr Faqir Hussain, Registrar Supreme Court and Acting D.G Federal Judicial Academy, were also present.
The delegation comprising lady judicial officers from all over the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, visited the SC building as well as the courtrooms. The participants of the delegation discussed many issues and problems relating to the judiciary with the SC judges and the registrar.
