Glacier blocks nullah in Hunza, forms another lakeLAHORE: Another lake has formed at Shamshal to the north of Attaabad lake as a glacier in the area continues to melt, a private TV channel reported on Sunday. form
According to the channel, Shamshal nullah was blocked in the wake of the melting of a glacier, some 60 kilometres from the Hunza lake. Consequently, another lake has been formed, wherein the water level, the channel said, is continuously rising. The newly-formed lake has put in danger some 170 villages in the area. Meanwhile, teams have been sent to the area to review the situation pertaining to the newly formed lake, said the channel. daily times monitor
