Benazir Bhutto remembered in a seminar marking her birthday

LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will distribute 100 cheques worth Rs 40,000 among widows while 1000 Benazir Bhutto Awards will also be given to party workers in recognition of their sacrifices for the party, during the main birthday celebration of the late Benazir Bhutto at Naudero on June 21.

PPP Lahore President Chaudhry Asghar announced this while addressing a seminar on Sunday in connection with the upcoming birthday celebrations of the late PPP chairperson on June 21. The PPP Lahore chapter arranged the seminar at the Nisar Usmani Auditorium of the Lahore Press Club. MPA Faiza Malik, PPP Punjab Coordinator Naveed Chaudhry, Asif Hashmi, Hafiz Ikhal and other party leaders also addressed the gathering. On the occasion, Asif Hashmi said that several members of the Bhutto family had sacrificed their lives to save Pakistan and to restore democracy and democratic institutions. Addressing the gathering, Naveed Chaudhry and others said that the PPP was following the policy of political reconciliation in the country and would continue to follow its great leaders. They said that the PPP-led government would continue to serve the nation as per its tradition.
