LHC calls reports on President House activities
LAHORE: A five-member full bench of Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry directed to present all the information which may prove that President Asif Ali Zardari illegally used the Presidential House as the Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Geo News reported Tuesday.
The bench hearing the petitions filed against the two offices of President Zardari, directed AK Dogar Advocate to prove with reports that President House is no more the symbol of the Federation; instead, it is being used as a center of a particularly party.
Dogar said in his arguments that it is incumbent on the judiciary to stem the violations of the Constitution, alleging President Zardari is employing President House for political motives; accordingly, he is no more symbol of the Federation.
Dogar added his (Zardari’s) step stands in conflict with the Constitution that may come under Article-6 of the Constitution.
He said the higher courts had already declared that the judges giving go-ahead to the dictators share culpability with the despots for playing in their hands.
Justice Ijaz said not only the judges, if politicians also do not side with the dictators, then no dictatorship can prevail over the country.
The court later on adjourned the hearing till June 21.
