Imran sees conspiracy against SC
KARACHI: Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan Saturday said a conspiracy is at work against the Supreme Court in the name of democracy, warning that people and lawyers will launch another long march if any attempt was made to put the SC against the wall.
He said this while addressing a gathering of lawyers at a program of Karachi Bar Association here.
Imran said a battle between state and anti-state forces is underway in the country. He questioned as to why the matter of judges appointment taken up in the 18th amendment when there was no mention of the same in the 17th amendment.
“The judiciary is being undermined through introduction of the 18th amendment,” he claimed.
He said the so-called proponents of democracy in the corridors of power are attempting to tie the hands of judiciary.
Imran Khan said no such example exists in the world (expect Pakistan) where a leader or head of state keeps his property and wealth outside his country.
