Indo-Pak foreign secretaries to meet on 24th in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD/ NEW DELHI: On the invitation of Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will visit Islamabad for bilateral talks scheduled to take place on June 24, a Foreign Office press release said on Friday. Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao was earlier supposed to travel with Home Minister P Chidambaram on June 26, but her engagements at the G-8 summit in Canada led to a two-day change in her schedule. The foreign secretary is expected to reach Islamabad on June 23 and return on June 25. The secretary-level talks will also set the tone and agenda for the forthcoming meeting between the Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi on July 15 in Islamabad. staff report
