Water level in Attabad Lake on rise
HUNZA: The water inflow in Attabad Lake has yet again surpassed outflow, rendering the water accumulation in lake on rise, which has resulted in submerging low-lying areas located in upper Hunza, Geo news reported Sunday.
According to official sources, the water outgoing from spillway is 7500 cusecs but the level is still on rise owing to its incoming from various corners due to quick melting of snow glaciers.
Big stones have slipped out from spillway thus bringing water outflow on rise, witnesses said.
Meanwhile, relief and rescue activities for affectees are underway in Gilgit and Hunza areas under clean and hot conditions.
