PAF role pivotal in war on terror: VCOAS
KARACHI: Vice Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hifazat Ullah Khan said that Pakistan at this juncture faces a situation that is complex. Apart from our traditionally hostile adversary, new frontiers of conflict have lately emerged from within.
He was addressing the convocation ceremony of the Air War Course was held at Air War College Karachi as the chief guest.
He stated that these developments pose threat to our national security. However, with the grit and determination of our armed forces, together with the resilience of our nation we are destined to emerge victorious.
By the grace of the Almighty, the PAF has responded to these challenges with prudence and strategic wisdom, thus achieving the desired goals.
He further said that PAF's role in the counter-terrorist operations has been appreciated, as it remains instrumental in achieving success in militancy-affected areas.
The desired deterrence is now in place. Most importantly, our strategy has succeeded in preventing collateral damage, a fact acknowledged by various national/international sources, Air Marshal Hifazat added.
He said that it is my considered opinion that with the expeditious operationalisation of our newly acquired high tech weapons, aircraft and force multipliers, the PAF will also significantly enhance its asymmetric warfare capability.
The chief guest congratulated the graduates, who also included officers from friendly countries of Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, besides officers from Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy.
