Rehman challenges LHC verdict in SC
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Tuesday challenged in the Supreme Court the Lahore High Court’s verdict restoring the punishment awarded to him for failing to appear before the court in a NAB reference.The appeal filed in SC by Rehman Malik’s counsel Ali Zafar has pleaded that the LHC verdict be declared void.
The Supreme Court had dismissed Rehman Malik’s appeal on May 17 in which he requested to scrap the punishment awarded to him by a NAB court.
President Asif Ali Zardari had condoned the punishment hours after it was restored by the LHC.
