Extremism on rise in urban areas: Rashid

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Awami Muslim League Shaikh Rashid Sunday said extremist trends are on the rise in urban areas and that the a ‘Pathan’ is wrongly being maligned while actually a majority of suicide bombers are ‘Punjabis’.

Addressing a press conference here, Shaikh Rashid maintained that N-League is proving to be the most ineligible, adding the next two-three months could be critical.

“260 parliamentarians still haven’t submitted their degrees while most of the copies submitted are not intelligible,” he said.

The AML Chief said the government has failed in pulling the country out of the clutches of corruption. Policies must not be made that only contribute to the miseries of the masses, he said.

He said 50 percent raise in salaries insufficient; it should have been 100 percent. The government is completely oblivious to the problems of the people, he added.
