FO publishes "Pakistan Treaty Series"
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a "Pakistan Treaty Series", a compendium of treaties, agreements, conventions, and protocols, inked by Pakistan during the last 62 years.
The compendium from 1947-2009 covers a variety of subjects and has been compiled in 12 volumes each with over 600 pages. Only the ratified and entered into force agreements have been included in the series, said a Foreign Office statement.
The publication is an invaluable source of primary material for those who want to trace political and diplomatic history of Pakistan and serves as an authentic and precise record of Pakistan's foreign relations.
It would be of great benefit not only to diplomatic and official circles, but also to academia, media and public at large.
Former Director General Research Riaz Ahmed Syed has been the moving spirit behind this project. He has compiled and edited these volumes with marked diligence and thoroughness.
