Pakistan to take steps in response to Indian war doctrine: Qureshi
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Sunday that Pakistan would take necessary steps in response to the Indian ‘Cold Start’ war doctrine, a strategy introduced by the Indian Army on April 28, 2004. In an interview with the Press Trust of India news agency, he said that the composite dialogue between Pakistan and India should indeed continue. He pointed out that the entire world was confronted with the common challenge of terrorism, and Pakistan and India should jointly fight to curb the menace. Separately, in an interview with a private TV channel, Qureshi said that Pakistan has remained successful in convincing India that it was impossible for both the countries to defeat terrorism, and resolve the other issues being faced by this region, without starting the dialogue process. To a question, he said that Pakistan would continue its political and moral support for the Kashmir issue, and the PPP-led government wants to get the issue resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions. About Indian involvement in Balochistan, he said that Pakistan had used the diplomatic channel to deal with this issue. app
