NAB to withdraw ARY, polo ground cases against president
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to withdraw ARY Gold and polo ground references against President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to report, NAB had directed its lawyers to proceed in this regard. Earlier, the bureau had already withdrawn the Cotecna case against Zardari.
In the ARY Gold reference, President Zardari was accused of facilitating the company in establishing a monopoly over gold imports in Pakistan and receiving a commission as part of the deal allegedly struck during Benazir Bhutto's government.
In the polo ground reference, President Zardari was accused of building a polo ground in the Prime Minister's residence from government money during Benazir's government.
