‘Disgrace’ to parliament

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, on Wednesday, rejected the commission on Abbottabad, saying that “unilateral constitution of the commission was a ‘disgrace’ to parliament”, a private TV channel reported. Talking to reporters after paying condolence to the family of Lt Yasir Abbas, who was killed in the terrorist attack on PNS Mehran naval airbase, Nawaz complained that the opposition was not consulted on the constitution of the commission. PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar had, in a letter, suggested to the prime minister to incorporate some names in the judicial commission but his request was not considered, he added. “It is very unfortunate that parliamentary or judicial decisions are not being implemented in letter and spirit,” said the former premier, adding that the judiciary and parliament were being paralysed. Nawaz recalled that the resolution regarding the Abbottabad incident was not passed by the PML-N alone. daily times monitor
