The independent group recently parted ways with the PML-Q, when it entered into a coalition government led by the Pakistan People’s Party. The overall political situation of the country was also discussed on the occasion. Senator Tariq Azim told Daily Times that they met Nawaz on his invitation and being the part of the opposition, both sides deliberated upon plans for the current session. He said that independent groups would cooperate with the PML-N, as both were at the same wavelength. “Opposition has the role in the democracy and the meeting is the part of this democratic process,” Azim said. When asked whether they planned to join PML-N or if any offer had been made from the PML-N leadership, Azim said that there was no such thing on the cards at the moment.
