Opposition won’t protest during Punjab budget

LAHORE: The opposition in Punjab has decided not to protest during the budget session, Geo News reported Monday.

On the other hand, Senator Babar Awan has termed Punjab’s provincial budget as the first ever non-consulted budget in the history of Pakistan.

A meeting of Parliamentary party of Pakistan People’s Party was held under the chairmanship of the Punjab opposition leader Raja Riaz.

Senator Babar Awan participated in the meeting as a special guest.

Briefing the media at the conclusion of the meeting, Babar Awan regretted that the behavior adopted by the choorian (bangles) group only brought a bad name to democracy and politics.

“People’s Party will fight the case for people and Punjab province in Punjab Assembly,” he said, asking, ‘who is it that is trying to open the back door route for coming to power?’

He said some people talk about judicial martial law in the country, but in Pakistan there is no room for any system other than democracy.
