No abusive language against institutions: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Thursday, said in the National Assembly that abusive language must not be used against any institution of the country. Gilani said actions would be taken and culprits be prosecuted, who were involved in the killing of a boy in Karachi, however, under Article 63 of the constitution, abusive language could not be used against superior judiciary and armed forces. Earlier, speaking on a point of order, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq, over the killing of a youth by some Rangers officials in Karachi, used foul language against the entire Rangers force, calling them ‘terrorists in uniform’ who must be ‘bridled’. He demanded the government to register a case against the “accused” officials of the Rangers under the Terrorism Act for brutally killing the young man. The prime minister requested the chair to expunge Saad Rafiq’s words against the border security force from the proceedings of the House. “It is wrong to blame all people in uniform just because of some,” Gilani said, adding that, abusive language must not be used against any institution of the country. He assured the House that action would be taken and culprits be taken to task. “Neutral inquiry into the killing of the youth by Rangers would be carried out”, he added. Expressing shock and grief over the incident, President Asif Ali Zardari, on Thursday, asked for immediate report on the matter. In a statement issued from the Presidency on Thursday, the president said that the matter should be investigated and the law would take its course. agencies
