Will not allow Lahore to be turned into Kharotabad, Karachi: LHC
Lahore: Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry said that the killing of a young man in Nishtar Colony during a fake police encounter will not be allowed to be turned into Karachi or Kharotabad, Geo News reported.IGP Punjab told the court that cases have been lodged against a DSP and four policemen against the killing of Shahbaz Butt.
He said that they were arrested and assured the court that an investigation in line with the law would be conducted and strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
Chief Justice LHC remarked that if fake police encounters were not stopped then people would not even believe in real encounters.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for 15 days but directed that the court should be kept informed of the investigation.
