Double trouble worsens life across country

KARACHI: Many cities of Pakistan are under the grip of a severe heat wave and temperatures rose beyond 40 °Celsius, Geo News reported Wednesday.

In Nokandi, the temperature was recorded at 44° Celsius, in Dalbandin it reached 43° Celsius, in Dadu 42° Celsius, while in Noorpur Thal and Bhakar it reached 41° Celsius.

In Nawabshah and Sibi, the temperature was recorded at 40° Celsius while in Dera Ismail Khan and Larkana the temperature was 39° Celsius.

The temperature in Peshawar was 38° Celsius, 37° in Multan while in Lahore and Hyderabad it was 36°.

In Quetta the temperature was 34 ° Celsius, while in Karachi it was 33°.

According to met department, majority of the cities will be facing dry and warm weather in the next 24 hours whereas the loadshedding duration has been in increased to 18-20 hours in many areas of Balochistan. The arban areas get electricity for six hours in the entire day while rural have for four hours only.

Along with extended hours of loadshedding, Northern Balochistan including Chaman is facing sever heat that compelled the locals to stay indoors.

Business activities in many cities including Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Shikarpur and Larkana are adversely affected by loadshedding.

Many cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also facing extreme weather whereas loadshedding has made situation even difficult for the residents.
