18 hours load-shedding, shortfall up by 5,000MW
LAHORE: Power shortfall in the country has shot up to 5,000 megawatt, resulting in protracted load shedding and piling miseries on the people across the country.
Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Larkana and Mirpurkhas in the province of Sindh groaning hit by 8-10 hours of load shedding. Faisalabad industrial area witnessing 6 hours of load shedding, while the residential areas 10 grueling hours. Gojranawala, Jhang struck by 12 hours of load shedding, while in the southern Punjab including Multan prolonged power outage has taken the life out of the town/cities. Sargodha also hit by load shedding for 15 hours.
Balochistan’s towns Jafferabad, Naseerabad and Chaman grueling under load shedding for 5 hours after every 2 hours.
The situation in Khayber Pakhtunkhaw is no different, as swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Charsadda and other areas are facing acute shortage of potable water due to protracted load shedding.
