Rulers want to extend their corruption to AJK: Nawaz

* PML-N chief says rulers can’t give anything to AJK people

MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif asserted on Friday that corrupt rulers now wanted to extend the sphere of their corruption to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing an election rally in Phateka area in support of PML-N’s woman candidate, Naureen Arif, the former premier said that the rulers, under whom Pakistan had been witnessing unprecedented corruption, price-hike and unemployment, could not give anything to the masses of AJK.

“Those who committed loot and plunder in Pakistan will do the same in AJK,” he said.

Criticising the visit of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to AJK, Nawaz said his (Gilani) participation in the election campaign was a shame. “Why didn’t the prime minister come to AJK for announcing development schemes during the last three years of his rule,” he questioned.

Nawaz claimed that during his tenure as prime minister, Pakistan was making better economic progress than India and its defence forces were also very strong. He recalled that he made the nation proud by conducting six atomic explosions in reply to India’s five nuclear tests, but Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf toppled his government and sabotaged the whole developmental process. The PML-N chief asserted that the nation knew that what was happening in Islamabad. He said the country was engulfed in multiple crises of poor law and order, inflation, unemployment and poverty, while the rulers were least bothered towards the plight of the common man. “The rulers are only interested in making money,” he added. inp
