PML-N resorted to violence to avoid defeat: Firdaus
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Dr Firdaus Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that the Punjab government’s rejection of orders of the chief election commissioner (CEC) for the deployment of Rangers at polling stations clearly showed its negative intentions with regard to elections in the AJK.
Talking to PTV, Firdaus said that PML-N candidates, after sensing a clear defeat, resorted to violence at different polling stations in Sialkot and Lahore.
She said that media teams witnessed acts of violence at various polling stations and this proved that the Punjab government “was neither loyal to the country nor to the cause of Kashmir.” She alleged that the PML-N activists and candidates committed acts of vandalism while the polling was underway, and deprived the Kashmiri refugees of their right to caste votes. app
