Govt will try to address MQM's grievances: Firdaus
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Firdaus Ashiq Awan said on Monday that the government would try to address the grievances of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Addressing a news conference, the minister said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM were coalition partners in the federal and Sindh governments and the government would address its grievances through consultations. “I am hopeful that issues with the MQM will again be resolved amicably,” she added. Also on Monday, the presidential spokesman, Farhatullah Babar, said the government would urge Ishratul Ebad to reconsider his decision to resign from the office of Sindh governor. He said the government would continue its reconciliatory policies. staff report
