People now demand electricity instead of democracy: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said that the people now want electricity instead of democracy and therefore he keeps the democratic system sans electricity on his toes.

He said that it was the people’s right to protest against the existing woeful situation, while he was standing beside the people.

Talking to media outside the camp office under the shadow of Minar-e-Pakistan here, Shahbaz Sharif said that the people say that they want electricity not democracy. He said that the rulers have plundered the nation for four years and to set things right in the country, the thieved have to be driven away. He said he cannot remain standing by the side of the thieves.

Punjab CM said that he would prefer to step down and stand by the side of the people on matters of public interests.

He said that he was resolving the water problem in Punjab.

Earlier, Punjab CM had presided over a meeting at the Minar-e-Pakistan camp office.
