Arsalan blackmailed me, Riaz tells SC
ISLAMABAD: Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz told the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday that Dr Arsalan Iftikhar had continuously blackmailed him, extorted money from his son in-law on different pretexts and misused his position as son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Malik Riaz and his son Ahmed Ali Riaz appeared in the court and submitted a concise statement in the case concerning allegations of a business deal between the tycoon and chief justice’s son Arsalan. “I have been victimised and blackmailed by him [Arsalan],” Malik Riaz, adding that Arsalaan was a close friend of Ahmed Khalil “who happens to be a friend of my son-in-law Salman Ahmed”. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Jawwad S Khwaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, directed Arsalan to submit his rejoinder over Malik Riaz’s reply today (Wednesday), and said the court would decide about further proceedings of the case tomorrow (Thursday).
