SCBA chief urges for Arsalan case investigation

LAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Yaseen Azad said on Saturday that all institutions are heading towards crisis and that the Arsalan case should be investigated, Geo News reported.

While addressing a press conference at Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry, Yaseen Azad said Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry, by taking action against his son Arsalan has proved that everyone is equal in front of him.

He said that an institution cannot be penalized for a mistake of an individual.

The matter is between two individuals, therefore, the judiciary should not be dragged in between, he advised adding the volley of accusations should follow a prior research and without concrete evidence, the matter should not be furthered ahead.

The SC Bar President hoped everyone will have a fair opportunity to transparent trial in the investigations. He demanded the inquiry report be brought to fore and the one responsible for the entire episode be punished.

Azad stressed everybody including politicians, lawyers and media persons should be subjected to accountability, adding action should be taken up against those who elicited benefits from real estate tycoon Malik Riaz.
