I will implement SC orders, end load shedding: Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, candidate of the PML-N for the office of prime minister, said on Thursday that, if elected, he would implement orders of the Supreme Court (SC).

Speaking to the media, he outlined his three-point agenda of honouring court verdicts, eliminating load shedding and holding general elections as soon as possible. Abbasi added that the country was ready for general elections.

About drone strikes, he said such attacks were an attack on the country’s sovereignty.

Abbasi is among five candidates who filed their nomination papers for the office of prime minister on Thursday. The other four candidates are PPP’s Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Raja Pervez Ashraf and Qamar Zaman Kaira and JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman. The office of prime minister fell vacant after the SC disqualified Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday. online
