Nobody can prove corruption charges against me: Shahab

ISLAMABAD: Candidate of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies for the country’s top slot on Thursday denied all corruption allegations levelled against him.

After submitting his nomination papers, Makhdoom Shahabuddin told reporters he was wrongly charged in the ephedrine case. He said the charges were levelled against him as he was the health minister when the scandal originated. Shahab thanked the PPP and its allies for nominating him as the candidate for premiership. He also congratulated the PPP workers on the birth anniversary of slain PPP chairwoman Benazir Bhutto. PPP has also nominated Raja Pervez Ashraf as a covering candidate. He said he had ordered for a new ‘sherwani’ for the oath-taking ceremony owing to his possible election as the premier, adding that he had one ‘sherwani’ which he wore on his wedding. online
